Two point conversions contradict what the goal is at the end of football games. To win or lose and not tie. That's why the NFL created overtime in 1974. There's been only two times I'm aware of when a 2 point play was used to win. By Jon Gruden of Tampa Bay hosting Washington in 2005 (Mike Alstott converted in 36-35 win) and shortly thereafter by Mike Shanahan of Denver, as the Broncos converted and beat San Diego.

Do away with the two point play, the extra point, and the overtime and go back to tie games, which never bothered me. Look at the silly NHL and their shootouts and three point (no loser) games. Tie games are just fine.
