1983 Marcus Allen:

Regular season: 266 rushes for 1014 yards. 3.8 per carry.

Post season: 58 rushes for 466 yards. 8.0 per carry.

Composite: 324 rushes for 1480 yards 4.6 per carry.

1983 Tony Dorsett:

Regular season: 289 rushes for 1321 yards. 4.6 per carry.

I intend to use Dorsett's card as substitute for Allen.

They acquired Mike Haynes late in season and were clearly the best team in NFL by season's end. "The Ultimate Super Bowl Book" by Bob McGinn provides great analysis of the Raiders' domination of Super Bowl 18. They were underdogs, but with a second shut down corner in Haynes and the fact that Washington was much more turnover dependent (+43 to Raiders' -13 during regular season), the sharp money was on the superior-in-disguise Raiders.
