Bengals officially announce they've hired 35 year old Zac Taylor as their head coach, succeeding the long tenured Marvin Lewis, who holds the NFL record for most regular season victories by a head coach without winning any playoff games.

Taylor will be introduced in a press conference at 2pm EST tomorrow (Tuesday).

He is the tenth head coach in Bengals history. Taylor, who has most recently served as LA Rams quarterbacks coach, becomes the second man from the Sean McVay coaching tree to get an NFL head coaching job. Former Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur was hired as head coach by the Packers.

Taylor was also an interim offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins.

Zac has a brother--Press Taylor--who is the current quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Zac Taylor is married to Sarah Sherman, daughter of former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Sherman, who is currently head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL.

Bengals brass said Zac Taylor's interview with them was a "show stopper". They were greatly impressed by him.

His staff so far:

Offensive coordinator: 34 year old Brian Callahan, son of longtime college and NFL assistant coach and former head coach of the Raiders--Bill Callahan. Brian most recently served as Jon Gruden's quarterbacks coach for the Raiders this past season.
